5. Conclusion

5. Conclusions 5.1 Practical Applications This set of data collected from the experiments conducted, can be put to good use by helping different companies and people learn more about the coefficient of friction of 6 different surfaces, These companies can then use this set of data to better develop and design more effective products for example, car tires, elevator ropes, different grips for different types of products etc. These better products can improve the way of life for the consumers of the products 5.2 Areas for further study Given more time, we could use more surfaces to improve our understanding. We could also measure the coefficient of friction by doing different measurements and experiments such as time taken for an object of a certain mass to slide down a ramp at a certain angle covered in the surfaces. We could also take measurements of different surfaces, not just the six and measure their coefficients of friction. We can also change the weight of the object even more so that we can compare the coefficient of friction from those objects to the coefficient of friction for that object.
